"Living with hereditary spastic paraplegia means I have my good and bad days. Some things are harder when its cold. Other things are harder when fatigue, muscle spasms, and a lack of motivation sets in. But by committing to a routine of three training sessions per week, I'm able to keep moving forward, while also engaging in various activities, including dancing, sailing, slot car racing, and various wheelchair sports that keep me fit and happy."

Why train at Perno Performance?

"Having rheumatoid arthritis means my life differs day-to-day. Some days I can't do much, while others I'm far more capable. On days like those, I try to maximise my productivity by getting outside, moving, and spending time with loved ones. By sticking to a routine that focuses on my overall improvement, physically and mentally, I find my motivation remains consistent."

FAQ

Can I use my NDIS funding for personal training?

Yes! Because Perno Performance is not a regular gym, does not have memberships, and is also not open to the public, four different items in your NDIS core and capacity building support categories can be used. These include (but are not limited to):

Core Supports: Assistance with social, economic and community participation.

Capacity Building: Increased social and community participation.

Capacity Building: Improved health and well-being.

Capacity Building: Improved daily living skills.

Please take a look at the NDIS Price Arrangements and Price Limits guide. And if you have any questions, fill out the form below the FAQ.

Do I need medical clearance?

Yes. All clientele should be cleared to participate in exercise before getting started with any of the training programs. If you’re unsure about how to go about this, please get in touch in the form below.

My doctor is unsure about this, what should I do?

If your doctor is unsure or if they have any specific questions or concerns, please send them to this website to check it out/get in touch with us.

What do I need to exercise?

Nothing! Other than yourself, you do not need anything to exercise at Perno Performance. All equipment, including mats, are supplied. Although, it is recommended to bring a towel and water bottle.

What if I can’t do any of the exercises?

If you find you cannot participate in the training, your program will be adjusted. All skill levels and abilities are catered for, and you will not have to worry about any complications as the trainer will plan ahead/adjust on the fly.

"After a head-on car accident left me with a traumatic brain injury, I went through years of rehabilitation and recovery. While dealing with the ramifications will be a lifelong struggle, I'm glad that exercising has helped with my injuries, while also providing me with a sense of achievement to know I can conquer anything that comes my way."
